This bid document was for one of the key rebuild projects after the Christchurch earthquakes, the largest residential development in New Zealand. 

The area was effectively a demolition site at the time.

We were tasked to show how FL planned to build communities rather than just homes. These communities would be for a diverse range of people with varying needs and lifestyles, bringing life and energy back into the central city.

A document was created that was rich in colour and people focused imagery. Quotes reinforced individual stories that personalised the project and created a vision for the future while acknowledging the unique history of the environment. 

The client’s bid was ultimately successful and it was acknowledged that this document played a key part.

The bid proposal consisted of four key outcome documents, an executive summary and a design system to house the 6000 page bulk document which would be generated by the client.

These elements were all linked together with the overarching positioning of Driving Beyond. To illustrate this, people focused photography was used and shot with an out of focus element in the foreground to give the reader the sensation of looking beyond with the client. Further design elements were created that reference the LED intelligent signage systems that are to be implemented on the road. 

The design was tailored so that each document sat within the set while still being able to tell its own story. All design elements were created in advance of receiving final copy which was not available until 2-4 days before print.

Development of an identity for a bespoke fashion design company whose design atheistic is reminiscent of the elegance of 1950’s couture.

A concept for the look book utilised full page imagery. An urban environment was mixed with the glamour and sophistication of the garments to create an edge to the images. Pairing details with full garment shots enabled the publication to focus on the high quality finish of the garments.

The Discovery Book is designed to create an emotional resonance with the Cloudy Bay brand communicating
on a genuine, personal level. 

Taking Cloudy Bay’s line ‘discovery is in our nature’, the story of discovery begins by exploring observations. 

To visualise the process of discovery, images are paired side by side. More typical vineyard shots are paired with close-ups and even abstractions, to suggest the observant eye.
